Story

I wrote this one on a small island in the Mediterranean just off the coast of Sicily. I was moved by a sense of the I Am Presence in all of nature around me. It was singing "I Am" to me from all directions. It called me to relax and to share my story, reminding me that I was never alone.

Story

I was so moved when this song came through. Like many of these creations, it came on a remote coastline of the Big Island of Hawaii. It's a simple song about listening to that inner knowing. I particularly love this lyric about that inner message: "Let it have a special perfume, that reminds you who you are. Let it speak to you of angels and the angel that is you."

Story

This song was inspired at our annual Couples In Paradise Retreat in Hawaii. It's about softening our communication and dropping the walls in our relationships. I particularly love the lyric that came to me: "Let's get real now, there's no way we're faking our way through this."

Story

I was driving from Houston to Beaumont on November 14th, 1982. That was exactly 9 months to the day, after making a huge soul choice to leap into this music career full time. And I made that choice based on a deep realization that had happened 9 months earlier in Beaumont -- a sense that I MUST DO THIS! So here I was returning to the scene of the...awakening. Rosie Lovejoy, my dear friend and sweetheart at the time, was in the passenger seat. We were cruising at highway speed when she suddenly said she thought she saw an angel up in the clouds. One second later this song started coming out of my mouth, both melody and lyrics. More than any other song of mine, this one has gotten around the most, including being recorded onto CDs by several other groups. I consider You're An Angel to be a gift from God, like a newborn baby born 9 months after I planted a very important seed.

Story

I wrote this one at a Hawaii retreat, as I was watching a woman attendee in lots of emotional pain. I essentially was narrating her experience in song, although there's much of it I can relate to, as well. I especially love the lyric: "I want to see myself, like the angels see me still."

Story

I wrote this song while sitting on an ocean cliff at night in remote part of the Big Island of Hawaii. As I saw the moon over the water, this song suddenly came pouring through. I would say it's the closest thing I have to a "goddess song." It uses imagery of two iconic symbols of the feminine -- the Moon (lyrics: "Moon is rising over me...") and Mother Earth (lyrics: "Lava flowing under me..."). The latter was a reference to the fiery lava, which was flowing just 8 miles away from me.

Story

This instrumental piece was inspired on Valentine's Day, thus the "Val" I sneaked into the title. (Cute, eh?) I always thought it would made a great romantic theme song for a movie. Many of my friends tell me they love relaxing and even drifting off to sleep with my piano music. Ahhh...

Story

This song came to me in January of 1981, when I was doing a simple task of arranging chairs in a church sanctuary. Go figure! I love what it says about the spiritual essence we all are. "And this dancer made of light is you."
